me mates been in touch at very short notice for some green lanes in my area:nenau

I don't know?
I live near leek at the foot of the peak district.
we have done quite a few over the peak.
but on my doorstep?
I do know of some in the manifold area, there is hollins glough which im not ready for.
im sure theres a few near macclsfield?

anyway I have got to get me maps out, but can anyone recommend any lanes worth a look on and around Staffordshire?
there must be a lot of hidden little gems we can string together

Had cracking day out.
First time over houndkirk moor for Steve and his mate lee.
Also first time down hirstclough and that was a bit of an adventure.
Washed out quite bad with all this rain we have had and an interesting drive down.
What is usually an easy drive out of millers dale also was quite a challenge but we all got through no problems.
We also had a mini drive down one of the lanes until he realised he had made a wrong turn:lolwould have been a laugh if he had gone much further.
My daughter was camera person for day and pics are uploading as I speak.
Nice to meet both of your families and all the kids had a great time building a den on pindale while we stopped and had a bowl of Steve's soup which I have to say was spot on.
Will get some pics up as soon as they have uploaded to photo bucket.

I have got to get into my photography a bit more.
but then I would have to get out of me driving seat a little more:eek:

heres a couple of teaser pics

clear blue sky over looking Sheffield on the houndkirk dual carriage way section

this lane was more fun than alton towers.
I really didn't think we were going to get up this hill.there was mud and wet grass flying everywhere. I think Elton probably had as much mud on him as the trucks had:lol:lol:lol
you just cant buy that much fun:thumbs

I have one or 2 videos I have to go through but I need to get myself a go pro I think.
all in all it was great day out and my truck took a proper battering.
I need some time and fine weather to give it some tlc.

thanks again elty for taking the time to plan routes leading the way for myself and the landy muppet who couldn't get up the grassy hill cuz he forgot his handbrake was on:lol

Looks like you had a really good day out, my turn next week, Rick

2 weeks on the trot rick.
My truck has done us proud and its deffo earned a day or twos tlc.
and I need a lye down. its amazing how tiring off roading is. I feel like I walked around, not been sat on a comfy heated seat. im shattered

Yes tell me about it, after a Sunday at P & P I have Monday off to recover, it is damn hard work but great fun, Rick

I also need to get under my truck and have a look at the drivers side brakes as I keep getting some noises from it when I brake.hopefully it will just be crap trapped in there.
here are a few pics for now with more to follow.

didn't want to mention the handbrake but now its out in the open we did have a good laugh:lol:lol:lol

a few more pics from sunday.this was coming down hirstclough where it had washed out and the landy got stuck.you cant see in the picture but the passenger rear wheel was about 8"off the ground so he couldn't get any grip.

weather was was on our side for the day.

Did you do hollinsclough and did your sills survive? :lol
