I went out to my terrano this morning and I turned the ignition the glowplug light and relay came on about 5 seconds later light went off. and about 7 secs later the relay clicked off. I thought that the light and relay both go off together. I tryed it a few times and the same thing happend. After about 5 times the glowplugs clicked on then off in about 3 seconds but the light stayed on for about 7. Evan if I started the engine. any ideas:nenau ohh yeah, it still starts and runs :bow:bow

On the TD there are 2 relays, one stays on during pre-start the other stays on allowing a resistor to be in circuit thus limitting the current for quite a while, until the engine gets warm.

You can confuse the system, if you try to start the engine too early and say fail, wait then try again, and the timing is much shorter on the second occasion.

Not to be confused with the TDi version, this pulses the glowplugs after starting to maintain some heat until warm.

Glow plugs can last 5 years or more, but do need replacing, look in the download section to see how to test them.
Best regards, Rustic
