gearbox i think

when driving after going over a bump or trying toaccelerate quickly away from a road junction my mistral 2.7 auto will not change up. if i stop and restart the engine its ok. also if i wait long enough it will some times go up.only does this randomly. any asvise would be grat as this is my first nissan and not very familiar with niggles/faults etc. miccmacc

thanks for all the replys, as much as i hope its finger /foot trouble i suspect that it may be the latter advice about a troublesom box. i will change the fluid and hope for the best. thanks all for the reply etc will know doubt be back with other questions as they aise. miccmacc

I used to take my auto T2 out quite a bit; never had a problem, you can trickle along and concentrate on driving technique instead of fannying about with the gearstick and clutch all the time....doesn't suffer any disdvantage that I'm aware of or have experienced. And if you're bothered you can use 1/2/3rd gear on the stick.

If you do hit the loud pedal hard, try taking your foot off the accelerator and putting it back on, as this will induce a gear change.

I hated my auto mistral, then i stopped driving it like a V8 and now i love it

hey sorry im late been busy. yes everythin briggie an paulp say is spot on take it easy on the accelerator and its spot on but when filters and inc mini filter especially its even better.ijust went out on my own radio off and listened to the engine drove for half hour and all the advice clicked into place best thing went off road on way back from visiting zippy and nearly had a white wee :lol:lol and that was fairly flat can,t wait till do it properly :thumbs
