corroded through and pissing all over my drive :doh

can i just cut the fooked bit out and replace with 8mm internal diameter hose and jubilee clips to either end ?

Yup, exactly what I did - there's a download in the workshop bit for doing it from the tank. I used braided clear hose and just replaced as far along as I could with the length I had.

my workshop manual I made is comming in handy.

I would change both fuel lines while your there, I went from halfway down the chassis to the tank.

Very easy job, have a rag handy for when you cut the pipe.

it must be that time of year did mine the other night as mine started to leak found the propper fuel pipe clips worked better than jubilees

So wheres cheap for the pipe then lads ? does it have to be proper rubber fuel pipe, or can it be anything ?

I got mine from eBay, clear braided 8mm ID hose, bunch of wee jubilee clips (very topical this year!) and jobs a goodun.

Sadly mine appears to be letting in air further forwards so I'll be redoing it again with one piece front to back, saves trying to hacksaw the pipe in half under the truck!

Mine went just over a month ago, I used "rubber" SAE J30 fuel pipe but I found 3/8" (9.5mm) pipe was a good fit on the supply and 6mm on the return pipe (but the supply pipe may be bigger on a 3.0).
I reused the proper pipe clips that are fitted on the short rubber pipes between the fuel tank sender unit and the old steel pipes at the side of the tank.
I am no fan of Jubilee clips on small pipes they seem to distort the pipe and let air in as they are not circular.
When I have used the clear fabric reinforced pipe on other diesel and petrol vehicles I have always found it goes hard and leaks at the joints within a few months.

Be careful though guys, as if you use bio or veggy oil you need the proper pipe to suit. Otherwise it'll go squidgy and can even block up like a clogged artery.
So if you run SVO etc go to Oillybits and get the right stuff :thumbs

i just went to my local motorfactors and it was cheap enough.

I found my pipes were dodgy about two years back. Put new fuel rated rubber pipes from tank to half way down the chassis somewhere. Anyway this year I was underneath doing sill/rock sliders , I found the same rubber fuel lines looked a bit "big" :nenau Checked them and found them almost blocked up
So I've put new oily bits pipes from front to back :thumbs
Not cheap but then I'm not doing it again
PS I run neat bio all the time ;)

replaced these earlier, bit of a twat getting the old pipes out lol.

cover is in boot under carpet on a lwb, and all bolts were siezed solid, so i snapped them off, straightened it all out after and siliconed it back in place and used 2 self tappers either side to hold it till silicon went off.

ended up with that cheap exterior braded rubber hose from tank to about half way down chassis, will be ok anyway as theres fk all pressure in lines to speak off

Two out of four bolts had siezed on mine, hey, it didn't need four anyway :nenau. I left the old pipe in there, handy thing to tie wrap the old one to!:thumbs

Seems to be a theme running, sheared off 3 of the 4 bolts on the cover plate but I managed to drill them out very easily and run a tap down the threads, I also managed to shear on of the bolts holding the cover over the filler pipe but it was drilled out and retapped.
New bolts fitted with lots of grease and a spray of waxoil for good measure.
I also gave the sender unit steel pipes a sand and a waxoil as they were starting to rust quite badly.

hello all I have a fuel leak from rear axle somewhere and want to replace the pipes but where do I get the pipe from size/diameter thanks.
