fuel pipe over rear axle/x member leaking

I got mine off eBay, braided clear PVC pipe, sold by the meter. Given how cheap it is, probably best to replace the whole thing front to back. Clear lines let you see if there is air in there too.

as makeitfit said, get the right stuff or it'll perish/clog/rot/swell/shrink/etc..
It's got to be resistant to petrol/diesel/veg oil, you can't just put any old rubber pipe on there.

these guys are selling hose on ebay just bought 10 metres of 6 and 8 mm free delivery gonna replace ours front to rear in one go there not leaking yet but were and adviser on the mot this year. just doing some maintanance while the suns out ready for the snow

Fuel lines

my workshop manual I made is comming in handy.

I would change both fuel lines while your there, I went from halfway down the chassis to the tank.

Very easy job, have a rag handy for when you cut the pipe.

I did this , halfway along. The chassis to the fuel tank. Few months later I had a leak around the tank and assuming the problem was the tank itself , I got one from Solarman (Rick), had the tank fitted by a local garage and he said the tank that came off looked ok and I agree the seams all looked sound. However he did say there was another pipe which was leaking which he blanked off which could have been causing the leak !!!!

Any ideas ??.

8mm supply, 6mm return

I would check the size of pipes at the tank end, my truck had 10 and 6 internal diameters. Easy to check, just remove the plate under the booterms carpet.

Pretty sure the return and feed are not the problem (according to the garage, I used 8 and 6mm). He suggested that there was another pipe which was leaking over the fuel tank which he blocked off. Is there a pipe that branches off from the feed or return pipes ?

the only other pipe is one that comes from the top of the tank to near the top of the filler neck, this allows the tank to vent when filling, but fuel would not normally be that high so should not leak, Rick

Is it definitely fuel thats leaking? There is also a clutch damper pipe that runs along over the rear axle too, that's quite a thick pipe too.

Yep, defo diesel. I've already sorted the clutch damper pipe some time ago after reading various threads. Thanks. I'll take off the sender unit access plate to see if that reveals anything.
