morning all . last week I changed my both fuel lines from tank to the bulkhead and I am still getting air in the feed line by the filter primer . but I have noticed that the fuel line coming out of the primer that goes to the pump is weeping diesel . so my question is would that cause air in the pipe that goes into the filter ?

Hole in the line that goes from the primer to the pump, as under gravity the diesel would leak, and when the engine is running, then the pump will suck air in from the leak...

Looks like it could be the primer:nenau

Leak after the filter will not cause air to show before the filter, but will cause air to be drawn into the pump as with engine running this is SUCTION line, if you have replaced lines back to the tank and the joints are good, then it could be the pipe in the tank, to test fill it to the neck, does it still do it? if no then pipe in tank is bad, if yes you still have a problem tank to filter, Rick

hi rick. it seem to happen every time I park the car for a couple of hours or over night and its always in the clear piece of pipe that goes into the fuel filter and its about 3 inches long . I can get it out and into primer everytime . but I have noticed if I keep tapping the side of the primer with the engine running I keep getting a lot of air bubbles in the pipe going to the pump

Beautiful!!!!!

That was what I was getting when my fuel pickup lines were blocked and my swirl chamber was full of leaves and conifers

when the engine is running there are no signs of air in the feed pipes that goes to or coming out . until I tap the side of the primer then I get air in the pipe going to the pump and the in pipe stay free of air until I turn it off and leave for a couple hours or more . does that sound like the primer leaking air

Given that physical contact is causing the primer to leak air into the lines then I would def say that the primer is the issue, why not get a 30cm length of 8mm ID clear fuel hose and just loop the send and return on the bulkhead bypassing whatever is already there.

If your still getting problems after that then you are leaking in air elsewhere :doh

I think you've answered this one yourself buddy with your last post :clap
