so following on from POP! today i decided that my spare afternoon
was going to be spent curing the power loss puzzle.
Back to basics.
fuel filter changed, only done 500 miles on last one, but changed,
fuel lines blown out, (note to self, only loosen tank top next time, belching diesel over garden fance is not good idea)
checked no leaks in any pipe,
rechecked all connections of intercooler are tight and leak free.
still the same, boost 13psi, pulls well but not kick in arse it was.

Egr blanked off, valve on inlet manifold appears to be working correctly,
God knows what its there for, but works.

cant hear any leaks on inlet manifold, none on exhaust, MAF 4.7v when driving round, (made a test meter)

no faults registered in memory.

so seems can only be fuel starvation.

so whats left to try?

runs ok, no smoke, starts instantly, still has funny mis around 1250 when stood still but that appears to be normal.

Anyone local want a go to see if im begining to imagine problems?????????

erm ..... air filter ?

Injectors or #1 injector i believe on the intercooled models...

K&N induction kit thingy, 3 weeks old, shouldnt be that,
better not be that!!!!!

intercooler clean too and boost gauge tapped into cooler on inlet manifold side too.

is there something in the pumps?

Do you have the mini filter fitted to the feed in to the injector pump.

im not sure yours will have a banjo filter, in the pump?

have you checked the injectors?perhaps some injector cleaner and a red hot blast down the motorway?

if it was fuel starvation...wouldnt you get some smoke?

Not on inter-cooled models I don't think ;)

My Terrano is intercooled ............it has the bosch maff and bosch fuel pump and has the mini filter in the banjo bolt union.

Well 'im coming to the conclusion they put them in when they felt like it :lol :thumbs

In that case, mini filter then injectors :thumbs

sorry,
was busy reading old posts on No1 injectors................................

Little filter used to live in banjo but due to being blocked, it got junked a long time ago.

done the injector cleaner stuff thing and that made no difference,

begining to think im imagining it now, revs out to 5.5k (when stood)
no smoke,

oil changed 500 mile ago when did all filters and all oils.

its more puzzling because after remap it went like hell, then POP incident, as though something blew?
and its not as powerfull now.

All you had to do was clean the mini filter out :doh
Its there to stop the fine bits of crap screwing your injectors & pump
You need to check your injectors or get re-nozzeled 1's in my opinion

I'm sat here trying to think that the hell that would have been but nothing immediate occurs....have you checked all the air pipework including the pipes to and from the intercooler, in case one has split and you're losing air somewhere? Any funny noises under the bonnet while someone revs it for you?

hi,
yep, tried all obvious stuff. nothing out of place and no wierd noises.

There was a def pop and power went.

even thinking now along lines of dropping wastegate PSI and see if the
lower air pressure will give a slightly richer mix? to see if its something in
pump thats gone.

same fuel but less air should richen up, but then does it end up smoking?

blockage/collapsed exhaust muffler restricting gas flow

when sheila had a company x trail , the catalytic converter collapsed and that had quite a major effect on power loss ...... cost around £900 from nissan ...... serious 900 squid !!!!!!! thank flek company paid :lol:lol
