Hi peeps, I've noticed that when the engine is running the priming thing on top of the fuel filter goes down and stays down without even touching it ?? :nenau

Blocked fuel filter, pump is trying to draw more fuel through than the filter is allowing.

Might be worth checking the pipes that run under the car, in case something has flicked up under the car and kinked one, and also have a look at the rubber pipe to the filter, it may have collapsed internally.

It's running on farm foods veg with a splash of petrol :thumb2 5% petrol that is with 40 lts veg thanks again

Dude, I'm on 10% petrol and ive got cold running issues and weird splutters... You need to mix more, wether it be with diesel or a thinner (obviously something applicable)

Bio, is modify veggie with ethonol etc in it and it becomes a direct diesl replacement

change filter and either run with a 50/50 mix of veg and diesel or put a dash of petrol in, the filter is struggling to pull the veg oil through thats why the primer is down

Yes but your filter is choked, it happens with veggie. Once you'vedone a few tank fulls it'll be ok again :thumb2

with veg cos its thicker, all that crud that normally just sinks to the bottom, well it cant so it goes through the line with the veg and gets caught in the filter, because thats the filters job, it then just clogs up, change the filter and all will be well again

ok,i had the same problem when i introduced the t2 to wvo, after about 30mls,on wvo.mix.every time it played up i would pull over and it would cut out, then it would restart and it would do the same,i did all the filter changing etc to no avail.i knew it was a fuel issue but after many many attempts to get to the bottom of it i put a video camera pointed to filter, attached to a screen and drove untill it started to happen,it did,not suddenly but a gradual loss of power untill it cut out.watching the film it showed the primmer plunger slowly being sucked down untill it was down, this cuts all fuel to engine but on stopping and inspecting the plunger was up so it would start.
phew.i bypast the filter and put a large inline one in and it was better but not perfect.
in the end after weeks of trying things i have done this and since no more trouble.
forget the built in filter unite.
use a large inline clear filter, take out the fuel sender from the tank and remove the swerl chamber from the pick up pipe(not got a filter in it but small holes and not letting enough fuel through)extend the pick up or you wont be getting all fuel from the tank.
i put a 10mm pipe from tank top to the across the bulkhead pipe that goes to the filter, then the clear inline one just down at one end from horizontal to act as a water trap, then a lift pump right at the ip feed in and walla its been ok since.
i have found i have to mix my wvo with rug/derv out of the tank as when i filled up with wvo neat it sank at the bottom, started ok but then neet oil got sucked in and took a long while to keep it going.so now i mix out of car.
i am using 25/75 rug/wvo or 25/75 wvo and that is ok for mt t2.but i will go to 50/50 in constant freezing.
i leave my mix out in open in clear pop bottle so i can see any gelling.
hope this helps.
all my previous cars i mixed in the tank but this i mix out.

sorry but never use wvo, no matter how much you filter it you will never get all the contaminants out, salt, water, fats, if you want to run on veg oil only use svo new in a bottle from a store/shop, wvo is only good for making bio with

im thinking of fitting a small electric fuel pump to mine just before the IP what type did you use ?

an easy to fit 12v lift pump from fleabay, about £35.
R1cho,every one can chose the fuel they use,i chose wvo 10s of thousands of miles and god knows the savings i have made.no engine failiers.
i am highly experienced and have a good filtration set up so i know the fuel that goes in is as good as it gets.
agreed svo is better though.
