I got the bolts today and fitted the bar, the threads didn't seem to clever in the holes but it's done now. I did take a pic but left my camara in the glove box :doh

i sprayed the back and the chassis with grease before fttting and even sprayed grease with a straw on the can through a tiny hole on the bolts that protruded after and Spring washers for safety.

Thnaks for the deal Daved

if only i hadn't cross threaded the bolts :lol still nobody's perfect :thumbs

i'm going to use it for the first time tomorrow repositioning trailers and locking them all up before we go to Appleby on Tuesday. :thumb2

I might get some practice with our small trailer in an open field first though

looks good....

id have one if i didnt have an A BAR

I think youve made the right decision living where you do, the front tow bar is only useful for moving trailers and caravans whereas at least the a bar stops itinerant roo's,elk and bison crashing into the front panels :augie

Its one of those things once youve had a go you'll wonder why youve never bothered before :thumb2

I have noticed one potential drawback allready!

I have one caravan that is 8 feet wide and it needs to go though an 8' 6" gap from a narow lane which means reversing it at a 90 degree angle to the road. Now this is difficult enough backwards and the tyres often look like they are going to roll off the rims!

now with the bar on the nearside the car will not go through the gap after it :doh

so it means turning orund once round he corner and putting it back on the back!

But apart from that i'm looking forward to giving it a trial tomorrow.

Looks good. off to the horse fair then Mr Plank, taking a caravan? The police are restricting
road side camping this year, they had fenced off all the grassy lay byes when I drove through a couple of weeks ago. regards bri

they have restrictions within 1.5 miles of fair hill apparently, they try every year to make things safer/ better and some of the ideas are more sucessfull than others. But overall i think the efort put in is well spent, as for these restrictions i supose we will see how well they work in the days after the fair.
