Hi, i've asked a local man to price up to have one made.

if any one else would like one, Pm me, we might be able to get the cost down a little

Zippy

hi, yeps, seen that one some time ago when i had an 806..

forgot to ask abut one for a T2 but i will do so now

just looked Gromit, they are £158.63 plus P&P from them, so my mans got to be a lot less i think.

Zippy

watling want £158 for a front bar, not sure if that includes the ball or not.

so bit to go at in terms of undercutting, I note that watling rightly so
quote the bar's nose and draw weight as per the rear bar. they also
do a a natty electric winch kit to suit either location.

i cant remember who but, ive see a front winch and towball bar that uses both fixings at teh front. not sure if id like to winch just useing the one point

Zippy

P.S.
i think ill ask him about 2 of the end fittingx, and a bar to link them both together to give a stronger recovery point.

Anyone else got any other idears??

hi saw the chap today, hopefully have a price soon.

will ask about having two and a linking bar ffor a winch maybe?

sounds good idea, though guess mounting receiver to off side
will result in loss of factory pig tail hook thing, that said a bar
between them will brace any pulling esp. if winch.

what about if receivers could accomodate ahilift jack too,
perhaps by extension tubes?

I have a custom made front tow bar (see download 32 front tow bar) for which I am open to offers. I made two for the T2 one is on my vehicle, it is complete and unused with all bolts and pins and ready to fit. would take 15 mins to fit . This bar is quick release as per photos but a standard 2 bolt ball would be required.......regards bri

Hi Wilbri, thats the download hes using for info, hope you dont mind.

what do you want for yours, just in case he wants to much?

Zippy

good morning zippy..... I dont mind my towbar being copied thats why I did the down load to help other T2 Mav owners who tow caravans and trailers as I do. I am looking for £70 + this is complete with all bolts washers and pins ready to fit. I am in Kendal cumbria if anyone is interested. We were near you in sept, when we took our van to wilts, bristol .somerset, hants, dorset and I o W the weather was perfect except for a damp walk around Bristol docks...

regards...bri

hi wildbri. oh well maybe drop in next time for a coffee and chat...

we're easy to fine... T2 and caravan out side...

.........and having relieved Brian of his tow-bar and used it to push a large caravan around a storage yard today, I can state without reservation that it's become an instant don't want to be without bit of kit. I've done quite a bit of push pulling of trailers in the past and this is back to happy easier manoeuvring days

It took a whole 15 minutes to fit the mounting and that included cleaning the underside area. Fitting and removing the tow-bar assembly takes a similar number of seconds .

Thanks Brian -welldone- -welldone- -welldone-

Thanks Dave, Im pleased you found it as easy to fit and use as I described it

nope, but we have a member who a towbar fitter...

Im sure hell post here SOON!..

as ive just sent him the link here...

Hi mate, I know i could have told you it was me!!

but wheres the fun in that..

Zippy

HI all I have been speaking to zippy regarding the front towbars and have done my research on the fabrication of them. My main form of business is fitting towbars on a mobile basis but have experience in engineering as I uesd to work within a welding firm producing catalyitc converters.

Should any body be interested I will be fabricating the first three on saturday one of which is intended for zippy, the bar will be made from good quality steel and to fit my mav so will fit any with the same chassis. The angle of the bar will be set to the ride height of my car which is standard ride height so unless others have been altered will be the same for others. they will come complete with pins and washers with the crush bars welded in so no messing llining them up .

Should any body be interested I can produce and get them delivered within UK mainland for £52. I will have pictures of the first batch on saturdaty latest sunday so any interested and wish to see pics via e-mail please contact me with e-mail adresses and I will forward them on.

hi Scott,

please put me down for one as I'd be very happy if made to Wildbri's design as helped in the creation of
the download.

I just bolted a ball straight to the ARB, and then made a strengthening plate to go behind.

On our Morocco trips I just carry a 7 foot length of box section with a hitch fitted to each end just in case we need towing back to Spain :thumb2

Thats a good plan but I know for a fact the front bumper on my mav would not hold up like yours
