Hello guys,

I have bought a Terrano2 with raised suspension in Germany. The car have a new "technical inspection". The previous owner have lifted the suspension front and rear. The front stabilizer rubber bushings(on the links) seem to have a tendency to pop out of the "wishbones". First one side went. I made a road repair and then the other side started to work itself out as well.

96Maverick have suggested the torsion bars may have been turned up to high. Can i fix this problem in another way than lowering it a bit? The right link also seems not to fit straight down the wishbone like the left side.

I can post pics if needed.

Thank you for your time :thumb2

Regards, Lars

Sometimes the hole in the wish bone elongates, ie becomes oval, and the rubber eventually pulls through.

A solution is to fit thick steel washers on both sides, before refitting the drop link.

Some people tack weld them in too.

Having raised the front, the wishbone hole moves away from the Anti-roll bar, so that the ARB isn't really long enough, putting strain on the front bushes on the front, and a strain on the wishbone.

Best regards,
Rustic

I fitted some 50mm repair washers under the bushes to stop them pulling through.i also fitted poly bushes as they are a bit firmer than the oe rubber ones.

Thank you very much for your answer :thumb2 I actually put a quite thick washer on the left one. I guess it just moved the strain to the right link.

Thank you for the input. Will look for some poly bushes then :thumb2

A few pics of the ARB links and the T2. Yes the disc is not in "optimal" condition LOL

Ideally the drop links should be extended by the lift height. Otherwise they're always under load. An easy way to fix it to make your own from "rose joint"
Like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-8-x-5-8...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item588d3335d2
Then use a long bolt up through the wishbone . A couple of poly bushes and big washers later, you're good to go

Thanks mate :thumb2 I see what you mean. Do i just use a normal bolt to mount it to the ARB? It's not conical or what?

Quite a super charger mod you have going there LOL

Cheers

Front ARB / wishbone doesn't really move that far but better with them as I reckon it also helps the drop link sit at a better angle and so help reduce the chance of pulling through.
I did some pics of mine somewhere :augie
