Am I right in thinking that the front diff was never changed across all of the Terrano years?

The only one I can find any documentation for is the R180

The reason I ask is because I've been on the Lokka webiste and it lists a NIS-FO-202 for the 1999 that I've just been given however when I search for a 2004 on the site it lists a NIS-FO-199 :nenau

I hope I can fit it :(

Sorry mate you'll have to give me that lokka, for research purposes obviously :augie

Actually here's a thought, given all this faf about the shaft lengths ect, why don't you swap the whole front, lokka n all :nenau

Otherwise you'll be doubling your work easy!!

I've been on to lokka and mine is 2002 and they reckon they haven't developed one for it yet so guess they must be different at some point

Can the whole diff we swapped tho? I know gearing was different from early to late models? but when offroading lack of traction should not cause issue anyway? :nenau

Sorry Banshee, you'll need to return that LOKKA to the UK importer for proper disposal :sly
Such a shame they don't fit silver terrano commercials :lamer:

TBH I think the whole front diff & housing could be fitted if you also fit the earlier rear axle which would keep the axles ratio's the same:augie not sure if they changed the gear ratio's in the G/box on the later models or kept them the same

So I have a diesel front diff here, supposing you send me your Lokka bits and I install it in my diff and send it to you, in return you send me your diff and I just charge you for labor to fit it? Rick

That's it rick, lure him in :naughty

When do I come down for the fitting sesh :augie

Rick shed some light on the situation please as I really want to fit this Lokka on mine :bow :bow

I only have one TD/TDi front dif, but have several petrol ones, the ratio is slightly different, but at the end of the day if you need 4 wheel you are on slippy stuff so a slight imbalance will not matter (they are all slipping and spinning whatever) so same applies if you send me your Lokka I will install it for you in a diff, Rick

or if you are worried about ratios/differences between years, send me your diff ( you can drive without it) and I will fit the Lokka and send it back, Rick

It won't so sell it to me :thumbs:lol:lol
Can't see why the ratio would be changed on a part time system :nenau
There is bound to be some info somewhere on the tinternet about this.

I'm just worried that Lokka list a different kit for the 99' diff that it is currently fitted in and the 2004 on mine, am I right in saying there was only ever 1 diff for the Terrano or did the later one indeed change?

Do not know the answer to that one, Rick

So surely I should just swap the front diff over :naughty

Or would it be much hassle to take t out of the old diff and put it in my newer 2004 diff for future longevity?

Your call Rick, the beer tokens are yours to be had either way :thumbs

just in case they changed any of the mounting points etc, just send me your diff and the Lokka and I will install it, Rick
