I have some oil leaking from the front diff on my Terrano 2 -00 2.7 TDi Automatic. It's coming from around the left side retainer for the driveshaft. Only leaks when 4wd is engaged. Just changed the oil (it was leaking before) and the old oil was shit literally.
Might be the oil seal/ gaskets that need to be replaced? Have been searching on the net but cant find where to buy... Any suggestions?

Try japanese4x4autoparts i got a full seal and bearing kit for the Troll frontaxel at a great price and they do individual part s too:thumb2

what year is your motor? I have several diffs I can remove parts from, but only up to around 98, after that they change, Rick

Yes but that was the whole diff and it worked cos the mountings are the same but as we know the diffs themselves are different, Rick

As far as I know the motor is from 2000 as the car?
Found one oil seal at japanese4x4 don't know what exactly it contains if it is the gasket or the radial seal, need both. Says that it fits Terrano 1993-99. Only cost £8 so might be worth trying, but sucks to open everything up and have the wrong seal.

This is what I've found, says 93-99 on all of them do they fit anyway and is it what I need?

"Front transfer box output oil seal"
"Front side differential oil seal R/H"
"Front wheel/ hub oil seal"

think you will find that that is for the earlier diffs and yours is probably different, the only way you are going to tell for certain is remove the seal housing and get the numbers , this entails removing the drive shaft which means top swivel ball joint off then six bolts on diff housing, Rick

Thank you Rick!
One final question.. Will a diff from a manual gearbox same engine and same year fit an automatic gearbox?

yes the diffs will fit but am not sure if the ratios are the same, you should be able to look it up in the manuals, Rick
