Hi all.

So I've bought a set of cream leather seats with heating too. Picking up this weekend!

Question is has anyone done this and do they just plug in?

Not fussed about the airbag light if they are non airbag seats but the heating would be nice. Switches included too :thumb2

From what I've seen on mine there are two plugs under each seat . . . .looks like one for the squab, and one for the seat back. Both are fed by one cable from each switch. Any chance you could take a couple of pictures of the underside for me? Mine have never worked even though the switch lights come on, and it would be good to see what it should look like before I go guddling about underneath mine :thumb2

The seat heat controller switches will also be needed to switch them on/off & to adjust the heat setting. Not sure if they are plug & play or not if not that will be an easy fix with an ignition live & a relay:augie You will have to sort the air bag light out if the new seats don't have them or you will fail the MOT with the light on:augie

Thanks chaps, not fussed on airbag light as can sort that, was more curious about heating of seats.

On another note, Will I fit all seats in car with my seats in? Should I take mine out and drive up perhaps?

Do the rears need unbolting or do they fold out?

3rd row unclips out so take it out & fold the second row forwards & you'll get all the seats in fine

Alex, not sure how you are coming about these seats, but if it a car being broken up, any chance you can ask about the lid for the centre armrest. The clip that holds our one closed and stops it rattling has snapped off the new car.

Sorry Rick it's a 2.7.

I will ask about center, cream interior I believe.

Not sure id bother with leather Alex especially like me your off road alot as will slip and slide about. Just buy heated seat kit on ebay as I did £50 for both fronts. simple to fit and just two wires black and red to wire in then put switch wherever you want and they work really well

I can vouch for those!!!! In his buckets as well!!!

I'm sure Uncle Rustic will be along soon with his dissatisfaction of Alex's regard to Air Bag warning lights :lol

I think it would probably be easier to buy a heated seat kit rather than buying heated seats from a model that has them to put them in a model that does not. Whos to say if other parts are missing in the loom etc.

Anyway if may work

I'm more worried about if her hasn't got the harness under the seats that runs back to the fusebox with relays etc

Do we actually know or are we guessing?

If not I'll ask the sparky at work to do his magic, he's very very good with electrics! Deals with all the modern jags and wiring diagrams.

If it's slippy offroad I'll get seat covers for when we do go off the track.

Oh and re airbags, I.don't actually know if my seats are airbags or not? No marking on them?

Re safety they survived for years with out them..

They have little SRS tags on the B pillar side of the seat pre 2004 maybe late 2003 didn't come with the seat air bags:thumbs

Hi Alex, surely as long as you use a relay and fuses of course then shouldn't matter too much if you have to make your own wiring loom. Might be worth asking the chap to cut the switch and seat connections off the vehicle loom for you.

Good luck it's a mod that I'd love.

If he happens to have a high level brake light cheap I'd be happy:thumb2

I've got leather seats and I offroad lots - never found them a problem :nenau

I prefer the leather to be honest, easier to clean off the mud :D

Cheers all. Never seen any tags! Thats a good sign, I will ask about the loom, he said I can have the switches so thats cool.

I will forward message re high mount lamp.

And cheers barrbeast that's good to know! :D
