Hi there all, mostly i have been fitting a CB radio namely a TTi TCB-880 to the Ford Maverick toy and would like to share the fitting with you all.
I first removed the centre box form the in front of gear stick, it just pulls off
.
Then in to the work shop (garage pit) for some time with the dremmal tool and the cutting disk.
I marked off roughly the distance i would cut approx 2/3" and cut the top and sides.
Leaving the cut off "flap" for a very cunning plane later!!
As you can see you might need to cut slightly along the bottom a few mm to be able to bend back.
Now slip it in nice and gentle :augie
Now heres the cunning bit with the flap you can slide the CB into the recess like so.
Which holds the CB in nice. Then its just a question of feeding wires and cables though the opening and wiring up, I used a switch live (only live with ignition on) just in case i left it on and drained the battery.
As you can see a nice fit flush with trim and snug in place as the pocket tapers in at back.
Next i fitted the SWR metre just under the gear stick boot, the gear change is not affected.
Nice blue display.
Also the PA horn went in under bonnet at front :lol which I have had soooo much fun with, as people dont know were the voice is coming from :lol:lol:lol
Thank you for reading and i hoped you may find some of this useful.
Regards
