I will stick with leaving it in then lol - the less I have to remove from under the bonnet the better ;)

"IF" you cant get it back in  wake in a bit of pipe :thumbs

& it WILL make a difference :thumbs

The air is being forced to the filter :clap

Ok all,

Got it fitted without a single problem :) gave it a good 10-15 mile run and its sounds absolutely *$&*%&*% awesome!!

I have posted some pics below, of the whole car aswell, but look how dirty the old bloody air filter was, looks like it needed replacing anyway.

Thank you VERY much for everyones advice which gave me the confidence to do this alone, I know it sounds soppy but I have NEVER done anything with a car engine before and am now extremely proud at my first experience :clap

i vaguly remember back in the old suzuki "ram air" days someone worked out you needed to hit about 90mph or sommat daft like that to feel the benefit! i put one of these on my maverick tdi when i had it to get the air filter higher outve the water after drowning its predecessor (mistral) in a ford at bourton on water,it sucked all the water up through that trumpet thing and locked engine i was stood in middle ford taking heater plugs out to empty cylinders!

Whats that in the top right corner next to the fuel filter? Something to do with it being auto?

you wont on the t2 because its how the standard air filter gets all of its air so if theres none coming out of it towards the K&N its either screwed or Nissan got the design wrong ;)

K+N

if you went through deep water wouldnt the original pipe from wing give the k+n
a good slug of water, just like the originals used to .

no idea :nenau i always thought they handled reasonable wading depth

in any case i would have thought it wouldnt be as bad as when its captive to the standard cylinder, with the K&N it would just spray around a bit and I would guess if youre in that deep it the least of your problems :nenau

50/50 chance i think chaps :nenau

With out a snorkel i would put a wading limit at the top of your tyre or your gonna be asking for problems :doh

I don't think the pipe for forced air feed would make much difference with regards to water onto the filter :nenau

Anybody care to put it into practice & report back :augie :lol :lol :lol

already done dont wade deeper than lower part of the bumper or hubs as the intake on these are at the front

if you get really stuck you could pop out the fog light and run flexi pipe and fit the K&N on the end..

not a road going measure, but at least youve get your self out a fix..
