Why not put a sun roof in the floor, then if you run over any one you will be able to see if you recognise them.:lol

Also if you go through deep water, you should be able to see the fish and your rocky bottom...

Tip, don't open it while in the water though, but it could be used to empty the truck after you have been through deep water.

good idea, also id be able to see if the locking hubs have dis-engaged, ' front prop won't spin':D

I put a sensor on the front prop shaft with an LED on the dash to tell me just that :thumbs
I bet you want one of those now. :doh

yes:augie

how's it done?

I fitted an inductive proximity switch on a bracket that picks up on the prop shaft UJ as it comes out of the front of the transfer box. So it picks up 2pulses per rev.

I put that into a retriggerable monostable based on the NE555 timer, and used that to drive an LED.
It relies on the changing pulses to keep the led lit, and it doesn't matter if the prop shaft stops in range f the sensor or not, so normally the LED is off.

I have to modify the circuit this back end as it needs a voltage regulator as it can be triggered by fluctuations in the battery voltage due to loads, thus causing the odd flicker.

Hope it helps..
Best regards,
Rustic
