Hi guys, now please don't scream how stupid I am for asking this question, I'm just enquireing

Would it be possible for me to fit a 2nd sunroof into my terrano at the back over the rear seats? Obviously not an electric one but like a really basic tilt system like on old metros, Peugeots etc, I know that I'd need to cut a hole in the roof but I just want to know if anyone's retrofitted a sunroof into a vehicle, I was looking at discoveries with their twin sunroofs:eek: also, I thought it'll be nice with a bit more light in the rear, my terrano already has an optional sunroof at the front. Main thing that worries me it structure being removed. How do landrover do it without buggering up strength

Like I said, I'm just enquiring, as I know it'll be a big job.

Yep no problem, just as long as you do it between bracings/supports

Just remember to allow for the first sunroof sliding backwards when open!

There's a slight step in the roof and once you take in to account the sliding part of your sunroof, you will have to fit the new sunroof quite a way back I would have thought.

anything is possible but personally not worth the agro when they leak

Just take the whole roof off and make it a convertible, as they say on Top Gear, "How hard can it be". :D

so you want your terrano to be even more like a green oval then :lol first the wheel cover now a 2nd sunroof :lol next you will be adding a rusty boot floor :lol

Stick a solar panel on the roof and a daylight bulb on the inside, then you'll have more 'daylight' when the sun bothers to show it's face. There's always a complicated answer to a problem!

That was my first thought when I read this post...

Next he will be reducing the ground clearance, fitting easy snap half shafts, and only using it to do the school run...

As said, allowing for how far the standard sunroof slides back, you will nearly be putting it in the boot though.

In the old days I fitted the glass sun roofs to a couple of cars, and apart from drilling that first hole to insert the nibbler through, which always gives me major trepidation, it was just a case of sticking the cutting guide to the roof and following the lines. make sure you put some decorators blankets on the inside to catch all the metal shavings as they go everywhere.

Drill a few small holes in the rear diff, front diff, sump and gearbox, allow old oil to drip onto the floor, now you will be getting closer to the green oval.

Why they say green oval, I will never know, those Iv'e seen aren't that Green to me.:doh

Green....
(adjective) inexperienced at a particular task or in a line of business. Origin: possibly from the color of unripe fruit.

He's a little green, but I think he'll pick it up quickly.

Actually, I think Green is very fitting...:lol:lol
