Hi All, just bought a Terrano 2 to tow our 23ft tourer. First 4x4 and caravan so going to be a learning curve on both aspects. I took the car and van for a test run over the weekend and was amazed how easy it was. The van is just over 1200kgs unladen but would say it was around 1300kgs with everything on. Didn't even feel it with the terrano. Reversing took some practice but managed to get on to the pitch in about 15 mins.

Flipping heck you don't do things by halves do you. Enjoy both your toys :thumbs

You may have started at the wrong end... LOL... The T2 is such a great tow car, should you need to try another vehicle in the future you will always be disappointed..

I have towed all my life with a lot of different vehicles, and the only one that comes close to the T2 was my V70, but I still think the T2 is better.

I hope you have a lot of fun.

I did a lot of research on different cars that would be suitable within my budget. I looked at a Hyundai Terracan to start with. I test drove it and found out that there was a head gasket issue. So I decided to go for a terrano. After much searching I found this one for the right price. Very happy with my choice so far!

Hi and welcome

sounds like my outfit.

Without wishing to sound rude I trust you got your licence pre 97 or have a B+E
licence as such an outfit will be over combined weight for most newer drivers.

Hi and welcome. Love your choice of terrano. Mines a lwb 3ltr and an auto, and although people scoff at me driving " an old man auto" (you know who you are. Doug.... :augie) it pulls our caravan very well and we're at full weight in towing capacity, both car and 'van.
The 3ltr is easier to service too without the problem placed oil filter that only seasoned owners seem to manage without skinning knuckles and turning the air blue.
Happy holidaying :thumbs
Oh. Best get some photos up asap. :D

Its the 3 litre manual. Luckily its had a recent service but I am quite hands on with cars and tackle most jobs myself. So its good to know that I made the right choice. Few little jobs to do like a small amount of rust on the back arches and by the tail gate. But overall I am impressed with the condition of it.

But we all need to be impressed too. With photos like :clap

respect for doing the +E, fear many dont realise, and many on forums
trying to find outfits under 3500kg etc.

like front bumper extra, indeed good looking truck but then we're biased...

Well I thought I'd do it by the book rather than risk it. Quite like the bumper extra but it could with a tidy up. Think i'll take it off and respray it.
