been getting the old wagon sorted out and tidied up for her (maiden to me) voyage to the MOT station, yesterday my buddy and I were doing a few jobs, and he had got some direct injection cleaner thinking it was for derv... and he forgot that the "Loogy Wagon" (christened by my 5 year old niece) is in fact, diesel...

He put about 250ml of this stuff in it, and it has just over a quarter line on the fuel gauge.

My head tells me it'll be ok if I dilute it a bit with some fresh VPower Diesel, and it'll be fine.

Opinions? My main worry is that the pump for the diesel won't have the same lubricity because of the directinjection fuel cleaner in the tank... but is 250ml enough to ruin the show in 20 odd litres?

Thanks peeps and sorry for my first meaningful post being a question.

Cheers, Nik

just Fill it up with normal diesel, and don't worry about it any more. In fact, pour in a few litres of veg oil, a litre of petrol, some old engine oil, a bit of parafin, parts cleaner, brake fluid, 500ml of petrol redex, and a couple of squirts of citronella garden lamp oil. (all things I've had in my tank and had no problems with) Make sure you have at least 1/2 a tank of diesel and you'll be fine.

Firstly i wouldn't bother with that VPower stuff.....if in doubt stick some more normal forecourt diesel on top, you would be surprised what these motors will run on....

citronella oil , classic :jesterbg:jesterbg:jesterbg

There's no flies on you........:lol:lol

Having read all the posts over the years, what has gone into the tanks of these cars.......:doh What you have seen is only a start..

Acetone has been used, not sure about old paint and turps or white spirit, I would steer away from those as you shouldn't use RED diesel, :nenau:nenau

Now green paint .... Hmmmmm that's eco at the moment.....

Sounds like you have done the right thing, you might even find you have better fuel economy and extra power, let us know and we'll all want some.....:thumb2

The only issue with some additives is that they can loosen some gunge, but the filter catches that...:thumb2
