Happy New Year chaps. May your breakdowns be small ones!

My speedo plays up when I use my lights for an extended period, and eventually freezes. When I switch off, it points straight down, and I have to do 70mph to get it working again, when it flicks back into action. I'm guessing it's a voltage regulator or something. Can anyone pinpoint it for me? I'm now an expert in judging my speed using the rev counter. Cheers, Mike.

You on the original clocks or the later ones?

Ive heard of this before on here. The bloke had fitted somekind of uprated bulbs in the speedo cluster, apparently the bulbs got hotter and expanded the plastics. He replaced the bulbs back to standard and problem solved.
