OK this opens up a whole new meaning in the game, had the kit for a while but decided to fit it today prior to fitting my new pump head so that I had some figures to relate to at a later date, so early days but giving it a short high load run got 790 C at 4k revs foot to the floor, now this is far too much, I have suspicions that timing is out but going to need to do lots of adjustments in order to find out what is going on.
When I fitted the head that I have now initially it was as delivered without the annular groove and was far too advanced such that although it ran it had no power and overheated very quickly, even retarding one whole tooth on the cam belt did not resolve the issue.
After cutting the groove and then having a machine shop finish it for me but mullering the plunger, this is the set up I am currently running, the important aspect is it starts hot or cold just fine and performance is not bad but EGT is too high, so lots of adjustments coming to see exactly where we are going the main ones are timing and fuel, I will start with the easy one first and back off the fuel whilst keeping performance as is and see what that does to EGT, never too old to learn Rick
