Driving down to Cornwall on mon, what's my options on repair ?

Thinking cut and shut a new flexi will need clamp type though as not keen on welding it

I reckon that it will be as fiddly to fit that with clamps etc, as it would be to replace the front section, and the results would most likely be far more satisfactory.

How much is a front section on eBay?

Alan

Oh ffs

Why is it just before a road trip something always fks up :banghead

I'm thinking I might be able to climb under and do a bit of a temporary birdshit weld with my arc

Local motor factors 40quidish for front pipe just dont shear studs on turbo elbow as i did pig of a job to get elbow off so i could drill and tap it out

Actually ffs, what am I thinking !

I have a cracking cebora mig that I've not used yet. Now would be the time to get some gas and practice on my flexi :D

And then replace with new pipe as youve blown a bigger fecking hole in it

Only joking:thumbs

don't even bother getting those disposable bottles, they do about a 1m weld.

not easy to repair a flexi, it is a stainless convoluted pipe covered in stainless mesh, try and weld it and unless you are very experienced it will develop a large hole, Rick

It's not actually the flexi that's gone, it's where it joins the exhaust. So I'm thinking, loads of birdshit welding around here might hold it togeather for a bit

Ah right different all together, weld away easy, Rick

I used a temporary repair clamp on mine when it went there, I got it from a local factors, this type of thing 321140509727, it lasted well until I got my new one

Sorted :)

Gobbed loads of birdshit on it with the mig:

Got some argoshield gas from BOC in the end

Only a 2L bottle, but £19 for a refill it does 49min at 10L and tbh the little bit I do it will do me months, will see anyhow wanted argoshield as opposed to co2 and the welds are smooth as hell !

Just layed 3 or so beads down after I'd done exhaust, this is at max settings :
