Hi All,

I have encountered a problem with my 2004 2.7tdi. I have been suffering sudden loss of power but after changing the MAF, Fuel Filter and cleaning the gause filter all seamed ok. Unfortunately the engine appears to have gone into limp mode, it will rev when I first start it but after about 30 seconds it will not rev beyond 1000rpm. Checked oil, water etc and plugged in a code reader but nothing is showing. Would it be the throttle sensor, cam sensor?

Might be worth checking the fuel pump wiring harness plug and general area for loose, worn and broken wires etc.

Thanks for the replies, I unplugged the MAF yesterday and started it. It revved fine and there was no loss of power. Looks like I have picked up a duff MAF. I will try the paper clip method and see exactly what it is before investing in another MAF.

I was going to say MAF!! seems you proved it before I could make my guess.

If it's a Bosch, I think I have a good spare if you need one

Its my fault for buying a cheaper 'OEM' one rather than paying for a genuine part. Lesson learned. Yes it is a Bosch one I took off.
