I Managed to find the sensor, it was at the front, fastened in by one bolt. I unplugged the cable and unscrewed the bolt to remove it. It was covered in oil but had no marks on it. We went to all the local motor car stockiest to find a replacement but none of them had one.:nenau Nissan were as helpfully as a chocolate fire guard as all they would do is say if you cant give me a Nissan registration then I can help you and would not go any further…... so annoying :doh
Ford however where very helpful they look up the part and gave us a quote straight away but the down side it and even he agreed it was daylight robbery ……….£150:cool:

I have been looking on the internet for any other kind of stockist, does anyone have any contacts / websites or know anywhere that they can recommend, mail order etc …..anything

:bow:clap

Any one at all ? ? ? ?:surrender

HI i had this on my 1997 swb maverick, the light would come on and the engine would splutter but by the time i had taken it to ford the ecu had lost the fault code. Slowly this got worse and worse to the point the engine would cut out and would not start a few moments later the engine would run again. To rectify this i changed the crank sensor (a quick easy job but the bit was made by siemens and cost about £100. Hope this helps Mark

Thanks this does sound like it is the same fault. Where did you get your cranck sensor from ....Thanks

Bought the sensor from Ford dealer £160.00 rang around everywhere and emailed loads but could not get it any cheaper, fitted the sensor and touch wood that has cleared the problem, the light no longer comes on and the power does not dip any more.

hello, sorry to bring this up after so long, having similar troubles with mine still. I got a second hand sensor for mine, breakers said ok, but still have error code 47, has yours been ok still since changing the sensor?
