My mate thinks it will be the crank sensor too, any idea of electrical test numbers I have tried having a look at the manual but don't really know where to look.

Crank señor should be 900 ohms or there about

Also pullit out and see if its not covered in swarf ( common ) clean it and try again

I popped in to see my mate on the way home tonight and he cleared the fault codes again, this time it said crank sensor
needle lift sensor
needle lift sensor (RPM)
Pull like a train again but I haven't revved it past 3000 rpm just in case it spits the dummy again.
Tonight I am going to try and get the crank sensor out (flywheel sensor) and give it a clean. Maybe the needle lift sensor and flywheel pickup are effecting each other.

Cleaned the crank sensor, there was a small amount of swarf on the pickup.
Started the Ter this morning and the engine light came on again and guttless again, which is a bugger considering that last night it performed well on the way home from having the engine light turned off.
Tonight I will take the plug off the MAF and take it for a burn to see if that makes any difference.

What maf u got again

Sorry I totally forgot to look, I know you have already asked. I will have a look later on and let you know. :thumb2

No, if u unplug the maf it goes into limp mode straight away, you can't test anything that way

I'd suspect maf, this was exactly the same as my fault

Do u live near someone with a Bosch maf to swap/try ?

But also if it keeps saying needle lift sensor again after faults cleared then there's ya problem tbh

It is a Bosch Maf, I unplugged it last night and went for a run but it isn't MAF as it would have had good power again with it unplugged just poor fuel economy.

can u get to the ecu no. of the unit its under the heater controls behind the ash tray as there was a batch of doggy bosch ecus round 2000 to 2003 i think

I was out the other night and noticed that occasionally I had full power, then yesterday on my way home from work I had full power but the engine light was still on. Later on I was on my way home from a bee keeping course
(work related not a hobbie) lots of power and no engine light and pretty much the same today. So it has fixed it's self. Weird? :clap

Bugger, it's gone back to limp mode.
Since it keeps coming up with needle lift sensor I am going to get a recon number 1 injector, when it was tested it was on the boarder of tolerances.

It is now pulling well again, new Bosch injector sorted it . :thumbs
