Mines crying :(
It was loosing about a litre a fortnight...
Waked some K-Seal in it yesterday & done about 80 miles & no water loss :D
Would you consider it fixed or get another core plug for the new year.?

Always replace once theyve leaked.

Treat pour in cures as a reprieve to allow you to do it at your convenience.

Been caught out more than once.

I remember one on a cav exploded like a giant pluke :D

Was it a 16 valve :augie

No, an old 2 litre. Had a few of them and did a cracking trade breaking them. Got into that by accident :D

Also had core plugs go on sierras.

Its normally the 16 valves not the 8 valves that blow up :lol

Well i might put the Pajero on the road early when it goes bang  then take the engine out & rebuild it replacing the said core plug & see how the internals have warn plus change the clutch while its out :D

Didnt have 16valves on the ones I had , not even on the manta versions :thumb2

I cant remember if it was a ford engine or a vauxhall , i think it was a ford, where one went and it was behind the flywheel. What a pain in the arse.

Adz, This sounds like the sensible thing to do as at least youll have peace of mind for next season, as daved says these additive just buy you time, Good luck with the re-build :thumbs :thumbs :thumbs :thumbs

They used to have 2 main problems, the gm varijet carb always conked out around 60 thou and the cams suffered from premature wear.

Kent cams high lift and a weber twin choke solved that and the ascona/cavs went like hot snot.

I tried a high lift cam in a 2 litre and it ate manta gtes on the 0 to 60 but ran out of steam around 80 ish :doh (gte was good for 125 + )

Best around town car i ever owned :clap

Me Manta flew top end but the Ascona was a right bloody monster :D then i went from GM to Ford for thr XR & RS range :sly

I wanted me dads Mk2 RS2000 with warrior body kit & 2.3 pinto but he said no :(
