Engine check light comes on when starting cold. Goes into limp mode for journey of about 4 miles. After about 1 hour after stopping engine I can go out restart engine and no engine check light on and truck behaves normally. Only seems to happen when very cold (first thing in the morning). Have taken to Nissan for a diagnostic check - result 2 faults. First fault MAF sensor have changed this and no difference. Second fault on fuel pump but Nissan not 100% sure. Could it be anything else?

Dont forget fault codes guide you into the area not specifics.

If its on the fuel side I would drain/change the fuel filter. I had very similar symptoms from cold on mine and it turned out to be water in the fuel filter :thumb2

Look in the downloads section within quick links as the download for reading fault codes is on there.

as jim says check the down loads and do the check yourself and check against
the check list, it's an easy job and could save you a few bob. :augie:lol

can you ask the dealer for the fault code numbers they got?,especially the one relating to the pump. changing the maf seems to be standard practice and yet in most cases when they are faulty they dont illuminate the management light. so again, can you ask them which fault code that was registered pointed them to changing the maf? one more thing, how much did they charge for the maf?

Nissan ordered new maf, fitted it found no change so took it off and did not charge me for it but they were going to charge £120.

have changed fuel filter made no difference dont think its fuel the truck is going too well when eng check light is off

I agree with previous posts, i'd get the codes.

been out of the loop on nights for two weeks i think we have solved problem fuel pump temp sensor gone haywire telling pump its +45 degs when really - 2 have changed sensor (located on themo housing) just waiting for cold weather to confirm fix engine sounds better on start up so I am keeping fingers crossed

success fuel pump coolent sensor changed just had very cold weekend and all is well cost £58 but well worth it i have got my toy back
