has anyone had this where I was at a set of lights foot on clutch and brake and all of a sudden the engine judders rocks the whole truck . plus when I was pulling away just before that the whole truck jolted forward . it was like it was staved of fuel and then it got a burst of it ? does anyone know why it on a t2 tdi 2.7
as standard . no warning lights came . it seem to be a bit under power between 1000-2000 it seem to be coughing abit between the revs. would air in the fuel lines cause this . I know I got this I just can't get out to do it yet as I have metal in my eye

Could be first signs of crankshaft position sensor giving trouble. Or have you just had fuel filter changed?

no last year filter was changed . I know I got air in the fuel lines . because if I leave it parked for a couple of days I get a 2" air bubble in the fuel feed pipe going into the filter . what will happen if that goes ?

Is there any chance that the clutch master cylinder is leaking, and the judder is when the clutch has just started to engage...?

Have you noticed a different biting position with the clutch under these circumstances?

Just a thought..:nenau

no I did about a month ago but I had my clutch changed and the bloke checked the clutch master salve and pipes

Depends on the year as to where the sensor is. Earlier ones tend to be on front of engine below alternator and later ones are on rear of engine as shown. Seems to be two types a two wire and a three wire type. Mine and clivvys where the three wire types on front of engine, worst of all they cost a bomb.

Don't lose sight that this May not be your problem. Earlier you mentioned air bubbles in fuel lines? That has to be of concern and you need to find the source of the air. Can be corroded fuel lines under the car or the fuel filter has a dodgy seal.

Check out the downloads section for the fault reading. Read your codes just in case there are any codes stored.

there was no codes . I think I got a corroded fuel lines just in front of the rear wheel . I noticed it when I was sorting out the belly pan so I had a look under it all found wet fuel line and a rusty patch on the drivers foot well . but while I was drilling the broken bolts out I got metal in my eye and I cant go out in the sun at the moment to sort it all out

is this the crankshaft sensor ? http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/rpm...-mk-ii-r20-2-7-tdi-4wd-125hp_v5990_g3896.html . I can't seem to find one for a price

yes that is the beast, but they are available at less than that for other make of motors that fit the T2 Bosch one, now this is on the bell housing, the Hitachi is on the timing cover both are 3 wire but as it is just a coil the third wire is screening, but before buying new, it is worth removing it and cleaning off the magnetic swarf that will be on it, as this has a bad effect on its performance, and can vary as the flywheel passes each time rearranging the particles, I will see if I can find the supplied I got one from, sure it was cheap, Rick

thanks rick

Audi A3 A4 sensor is the same but plug is different but at about £10 who cares, it may also be a little longer so just space it off with a plastic or other non ferrous washer, Rick

Hold on a seccy... Now I suffer with this bad judder when foot is down on clutch and rolling up to traffic lights, the gearsick bops around like a crazy thing and can only be described as a stalling type symptom...

I fill her up with diesel instead and the symptoms go away.

Dave are you on the veg?

Your getting me worried now

it wasn't the gear box that juddered . I was stopped at the light already for about 30 seconds to a minute and no I use diesel

Always get this when I've been a bit tight and not used as much Diesel in my WVO as I should, mine is fuel starvation without doubt

Doesent sound like the veg symptom then if its been stationary for 30 secs already then the judder comes?

Suggestions people? :nenau

I'm sure there is a good answer. :thumb2
