There's always that good TD gearbox I have if you have no luck with the repair :thumb2

Thanks for the offer, I will keep you posted
I will attempt Ricks fix in around 2 weeks
I was afraid the whine would lead to the box failing, Rick thinks not, the transmission shop said it would, but they were thinking of the margin not the punter I guess

600 cc Scooter

Hi Rick, I still work a bit because I like the work every job is a challenge, some more than others, keeps my brain and body active and as I was not expecting to live this long spent my money as I earned it. My dad worked himself to death and died at 57, the work helps to pay for my motor bike, [a 600cc scooter] too old to get my leg over the seat of a bike.
So long as people want me to do their tops I will be available until my body quits :thumb2

What's the scooter Dave is it a Burgman, a BMW or a Honda Silverwing ?

I had a 250cc Maico Letta back in 1964 !

It is a 2002 600 silverwing I have 2, one was a donor one I ride

I bought the Donor [non runner] for parts my first one had body damage, then it got written off amber jumper turned in front of me, bent my frame so write off, I just bounced, the insurance pay off for the bike was good so I bought a tidy one, I am now rebuilding the donor, which was a non runner.
Had been badly bodged, fault was a crappy DIY wire connection, body tied on with cable ties.
Now I dont need it for spares and found the intermittent fault I am getting it on the road, it only failed MOT on leaky seals and headlight aim, simple fixes

I love it easy to ride goes like a rocket, auto linked brakes, fuel injection, far better then the 1998 Bandit I had and faster up to 60 MPH. with the far better weather protection just the job for a wrinkly like me

Just a bit of info, one of the guys I know that off roads his T2 is likely to scrap it as it is needing too much work on the suspension, and the box will be up for grabs, Rick

Thanks Rick, work has got in the way of checking out the jumping out of gear problem
As I have no work in the pipeline and if it is dry next week I will take the top bits off to see what is below.
How are the front 2 seats held in, I have tried in the past to remove the drivers side and could not see the fixings
I am hoping for clear line of sight
I will post some pictures as soon as I get stuff removed

Front seats are held with 4 bolts each located at the ends of the runners, you need to remove the plastic covers, Rick
