I see, said the blind man. ;)
I will hook something up tomorrow and let you know......
Got a french battery connector last night, quick release screw on thing, but can't connect the lead to it, so i'll stick to me 8mm spanner for now....

could be a bad cell in a new battery, i had a new varta battery fitted, next day x trail would not start, did all the checks, removed battery went back to suppliers, ask them to check the drop on the battery, they told me to do all the checks afore mentioned, said all been done, thay told me to get some one in who knows wat thay are doing, after a few heated words thay told me to leave the battery over night, next day i went in a new battery was waiting for me, manager said sorry, job done

just a quick update while I wait for someone to realise they're paying me a lot of money to have me sitting in a digger doing nothing......
Had the Peugeot plugged in and the mechanic said the glow plug relay was drawing power all the time. No problem, got a new relay from GSF, spent an hour trying to find it under the bonnet, gave up and disconnected the battery.
Can't find the bruddy thing anywher. Looked in the haynes manual, online, and under the bonnet again, had the fuse box, air box, and battery off, looked online again, looked inside the car, under the wheel arches, had the air box etc. Off again, found plenty of other relays but nothing that looks anything like the one I bought, or any of the other relays for other similar cars.
I am properly stumped.

This is what it looks like on a Patrol - maybe yours is similar .........

Its a 2003 partner 2 litre. Places the relay is not include :
Next to the radiator or on the left hand inner wing panel
Behind, in front of, or underneath, the battery tray
Behind, in, or part of, the engine bay fusebox
In the glove box
In the inside fusebox, or anywhere near it
Behind either of the kick panels
Attached to any part of the wiring loom associated with the glow plugs
Under the ECU
Anywhere in the engine bay, in the car, in the boot, under any of the seats, in the rear storage locker, the over head storage lockers, behind the radio, or in the cup holder.
The only place I can find one is in the box it came in.
This is what I'm looking for by the way : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Glow-Plug...ake:Peugeot|Model:Partner&hash=item5891139675

Fault finding procedure .........

1) Find glow plugs
2) Find cable that attaches to glow plugs
3) Follow cable to relay

Believe me, if it was that simple I wouldn't have spent an hour looking for it.:doh

stupid question , but have you asked your pug garage where it is ?

I have a P reg Partner I will see if I can find it on mine

N/S inner wing, I think, too dark right now to take picture, but between the neg end of the battery & the bulkhead, two gadgets bolted on there with VERY thick wires serious clunk from there when I turn on ign & again when glow plug lamp goes out

Makes sense... logically it should be close to either the battery or the main power distribution/fuse box as this keeps the length of large CSA cable to a minimum. But then it's French, so.....:nenau

None of the above.:nenau
if it was where the haynes manual, or any of the hundreds of internet posts, said it was, I would have found it already. Mechanic's coming round tomorrow. Might try phoning the peugeot garage but I think it might be a waste of time.

Ask the people who sold it you...
They removed it...:doh

They removed it from their shelf :D
Tried asking a breaker who's selling one but he didn't know as the people who strip the cars for him don't speak much English.

Phoned the pug garage. They said it's between the headlight and the battery. It's not.
