So the day has rolled round quick, I'm meeting a private chap for a remap, we will keep the original map if I am not happy.

I am wondering (as it's been off for ages) if the maf amp will work once mapped too :sly that would be a real beast!!! :naughty

It's been a good day today, nissan replaced my airbag parts, they asked for my cv and soon remap

I will take pictures if possible too. :thumb2

The maf amp may still work for low down grunt but you might find it needs turning down a bit after the remap. If you can get a copy of the factory mapping just incase things went pear shaped as it would save you going to Nissan:augie

If you go for a remap in theory the maf amp isn't needed and probably hinder the remap.

Ok remap done!!

We met the guy, he whipped out the super computer, I was watching him as closely as I could. He was reading 100s of numbers and lots of graphs that he pulled off of my terrano (from the diagnosis port) :thumb2

He then adjusted some numbers, uploaded the new map and we went for a drive, the terrano was faster a fair bit, he then said the magic words...

"We can do more if you like" :naughty

Needless to say.... I took this opportunity :sly so he got the map again, did some further tweaking, and uploaded again.

Went for the second test

The terrano is now an animal :doh

I put foot flat to floor and tested for clutch slip, all was great. Exhaust still doesent really smoke either. On the way home the terrano really stretched it legs... Left all the cars behind :augie

This chap will be sending me the standard map for my terrano back too

10/10 I'm a happy bunny!

I'm muchly green with that envy thing :p
Hmph
Did he suggest any power ratings, if that's possible ?
Enjoy :naughty

Well we did the first more standard remap, then we did the second remap which was much more agressive, I didn't understand what he was tinkering with, a page full of numbers, 6002, 6003, 6004 ect :nenau

yes I need to know more, yours is a Bosch set up, can he do the same on a zezel, Rick

Not via OBD Rick, our era ones need eproms  Well that's what I was told. So ecu out and electronic skills I believe .

Ah not that easy then, bugger, just amaising the difference between the Bosch set up and the Zexel, Bosch 27 mpg and good performance Zexel 18mpg and poor performance, Rick

Stick a powerbox on it and ram some LPG up it .That'll spin your clutch :D

Not that Im about to do it as my newer truck is going but when you have a car remapped officially you should inform the insurance company but can they actually tell if its been done?
