Been having trouble starting my Terrano and had the AA out twice recently. First chap said replace the starter relay, which I did, then after starting once it wouldn't start again. Called AA out again and he just used a squirt of easy start (no testing of anything) and said replace glow plugs. I am taking to the garage to get it serviced but am going to have to call the AA again to get it going to drive it to the garage. What I would like to know is, is it safe to start it with easy start as the instructions seem to say not?

You can start a diesel with WD40 too.:thumb2

It sounds as if you have fuel starvation, could be air in the fuel lines, do you have lots of white smoke after starting?:nenau

An RAC guy started my company diesel vectra with WD40
There was a leak in the fuel line, and all the fuel ran back to the tank.

It only did it when left for a week.
The starter motor, just didn't turn over the engine long enough for the pump to get fuel.

However, check your glow plugs, easy to check, see download section..

It's fine to use occasionally but personally I would only use it in a emergency.
If you need to start your Terrano to get it to the garage, you'll be OK. :thumb2
