Hi guys,

Recently joined this forum and had no time to post any photos or more specific information about the car so making it up this way.

About 6 months ago I was looking for a 4x4 after my Santa Fé wasn't doing the right job for us...
So after I spend some time on the interwebz I've decided to go for a Terrano since I had some experience in keeping one on the road when a friend oned an old 2.7 TD.

The first Terrano I drove as a 2.7 TDi short wheelbase, but this one had seen better days and wasn't worth it.
The day after I drove with a 3.0 Di, also a short wheelbase and decided to go for it.

The car in short:

Silver/grey Terrano 3.0 Di Sport from 2003 with only 129.000 km's on it when I dit buy it.
Not many options but since we moved to our new home I don't have to drive 200 km's a day any more.
The outside is allright apart from a few marks, on the inside it does need new doorcards.

On my way home:

Car drove well exept from some vibrations above 50 mph.
But 2 days later it didn't start any more so the garage had a look on it since I had to go to my work.
They got it back running quite simple by a new battery and changing a relay.
But we also decided to do some welding on the underside so after a week I've got my car back with a rust free chassis and also treated to prevent it from rusting like it did.

To save you people a long story, after this I've done the next thing:

Changed both u-joints on the front propshaft.
Changed fluids and filters
Replaced the rubbers on the front and back anti rollbar
4 new tyres
Changed the antenna back to an orriginal so I can choose on more than one radio station :D
Replaced the glowplugs
Cleaned the intake
Changed the front brake pads
Replaced the upper oil pressure sensor

Some photos working on the car.

It does fit in our shed:

Yesterdayevening I decided to change the front discs, but after taking all the bolts and stuff out I couldn't get any movement in the hub to get the disc of.
Can this be rust or am I missing something?

Things to do:

Change the front discs
Adjust the handbrake so it does work a little earlier then the last click
Change the front propshaft. Yesterday I found out it has play in the middle so it keeps giving some vibrations :doh
Find a pair of better doorcards

Fix my key so I can close it again with the remote

Get a new radio and speakers. Still got the originials in it

Maybe give it a snorkel, I like the look of it
Lift the car?
Get some more lights on it
And who knows what more...

Last for now, one of the jobs the car does for me (and its doing great):

Hi and welcome, the disks often need pressing off, I have hammered them off in the past but it can be hard work to keep it even, hit one side then the other etc, when putting the new disks on use some longer bolts to line up the bolt holes cos the proper bolts are not long enough, Rick

So it's just getting al the bolts and nuts of and then hammer the discs off?

Hi and welcome aboard, that looks a great truck you have. We have a member from Belgium with the same high roof as yours, we never had that option over here.
Take a look at the downloads section in quick links as there are some how to guides you may find useful.

You got it but make sure you protect the bearings a seal from damage and do it on a good block of wood, Rick

Double thanks on that! :thumb2

Thanks!
The high roof is needed over here to have it registered as a "van".
I don't have a company, but it still saves me for some of the monthly taxes (and most of the time I'm driving alone so the 2 seater gives me some more room)

Everyone meet my foreign cousin!!!! :lol :lol

I think we're going to get on fine me and you pal i'm well jealous of that high roof

Have a look through both of my project threads, the links are in my signature at the bottom of my post, I currently run a heavily modified SWB Van of the 2.7 variety and also got a SWB SVE 3.0 that I'm refurbishing and selling on soon hopefully, plenty of pics, grab a cuppa before you start!!!!! :naughty

I think we will!

One of the reasons to register on this forum was after reading through your projects 2 week ago.
Had to drive the misses and spent 2 hours waiting and those were 2 good hours of reading! :)
I like your projects :thumb2 :thumb2

I'll certainly be keeping an eye on your project mate :thumb2

I’d love to compare a standard roof and high roof next to one another.

Wonder how much difference it makes to the interior?

If I don't forget it I will make a picture of it.
Think it will be a difference of 5 cms in height inside.

:naughty:augie:lol

To give you guys an idea what that high roof does:

Since the Terrano is having starting issues I've ordered a new fuel pressure relieve valve but couldn't find the old one.
Does anybody have a howto to change it?

What pointed you in the direction of the pressure relief valve? Rick

When I park the car for say more then six hours it cranks a while before actualy starting.
Starting is quit soon after parking it there is no problem.

Changed the glowplugs already since non were working.
