Hi All

So as some of you will know (as I posted on a recent unfortunate thread), myself and my fiancee lost our 10 year old Dobermann, Max, last February.

We have decided it is now time to fill that gap again and we have both always wanted a snow dog / wolf dog.

Today, we have been to meet an 8 month old Alaskan Malamute called Sky. Very boisterous but generally a good looking girl that can be well trained.

We have decided to purchase her and will be back to pick her up on Thursday :clap

Here she is:-

Lovely dog but too big for me, I prefer lots of little ones, Jacks, Rick

Are they like Huskies ?

I do not want to burst your bubble but hope they are better pets than most Huskies.
They are rather cold in nature and most will run off when let off the lead.

I had a rescued Blue eyed Husky (it was a brilliant looking dog) for a few weeks and was glad when the true owner came to claim it back. I live in Derbyshire and it had run off from its owner in Essex some 6 weeks earlier - probably looking for the Tundra !

They look very similar in your picture hope the similarity ends there. And boy did it howl when we went out all our neighbours complained !

Definitely a woman, stuck in front of the mirror like that, and a very pretty one too. Hope she brings years of joy to you both.

Hiya

Did a bit of research on them first ;)

Alaskan Malamutes are the largest snowdog but are also the tamest and most quiet. They cannot bark (properly) but can howl. They are the best in temperament and loyal / intelligent. The bitches are fine, the dogs can be dominant (thats why we went for the bitch).

I am sure she will be fine :) (Hopefully) lol.
