Who was it who did the petrol diff swap recently ?
How did it go ?
The Black Pearl is going up in the world :) (on the ramp anyway :lol )
So I want to swap out my diffs for the petrol ones to benefit from better ratios for my 35s :sly
RICK,do you have any left in the store emporium ?
Also , do the petrol ones have LSD too ?
I don't have gay b s
On the subject of LSD, can they be tweaked a bit to make them less slippy ?
Discuss :naughty

I think it was Bigbunny (Craig)that was looking into this but not sure how far he's got with it.
I think you can add shims to the diff to tighten it up a bit :nenau

On earlier 2.7 diff you can shim them but later Renault diffs like mine you cant so I'm told. Or if you want them to bite more put old lsd oil in I think I learnt from rick lol

I'll have a look back through the posts and see if I can find it Pete, It wasn't very descriptive of the actual work involved and there was no pictures so may not be of much use.

He said it went without issue and was a straight swap, Rick should have some Petrol ones, problem I'm going to have is finding a Petrol diff with ABS but they should exist :doh

Just make sure the bolting holes are the same for the propshafts, can't see why they would be as for the adjustment, I've seen pictures somewhere of one that had had shims added, the guy that did it tried to weld another one up which ended badly I think :nenau

Cheers guys ;) Got my mojo hassling me :lol
Braided brake lines next and custom fuel tank
Now if this was faceache I could tag in Rick and like all the above pmsl
I'll do the reqd pics

Ive been that busy lately I've not had chance to get the diffs swapped! Work keeps getting in the way!!

Yes Pete have some more petrol diffs.

yes they have exactly the same LSD (rear)

Yes they can be tweaked a fair bit, just use the wrong non LSD oil, on road going motors makes em jump round corners.

If your diffs bolt in from the front then ABS yes or no makes no difference, the ABS is wheel end of axle, and it is the bolt in from front that I have, Rick

That must be cos you need whole axle, not just a diff, as for the prop shaft bolt holes they are all the same, Rick

The older cast diff off a petrol with abs do exist :thumbs
Found one today on a swb in penzance.

Think Banshee needs the newer, part of the axle type, older cast diff mounted from front will fit to ABS anyway as the ABS is on the wheel end of the axle casing, Rick

Yep, I'm going to get a whole new axle from an older Terrano/Maverick, as long as the donor has ABS it's a straight swap, no drama, no scare stories :naughty

Watch my project thread in the coming months, this is deffo going to be done as 35's is the next step for me, then I think I'm going to leave it there as it's all going to get a bit silly and a bit too big :lol

Still plenty of other mods to be done and standard bits to upgrade for shiny aftermarket beast parts :naughty

35's on a daily drive mate will be a nightmare, especially if you doing any amount of mileage! 15 mins on the road in mine and I've had enough :lol

Pete yours has not moved that far in years!! So you will not have any recollection of how it drives!!
Banshee, when you have done it, report back [emoji12]
