Diagnoses please

Morning chaps and chapetts.

Yesterday me and the missus went to fire up the terrano, she started as per usual.

I usually let her warm for 2/3 mins before I even plan to set off but I was boxed in so she spotted me out.

After the terrano was on for only 15 seconds perhaps I tried turning the steering wheel... It was solid as solid could be :nenau

I then gave it a bit more force and got a quick horrid squeal noise (like a lot of pay n play motors) it did that for maybe a second if that... Then steering was fine...

Thoughts? Lubrication of pulleys needed? :nenau

Also check the level of power steering oil as it maybe low

Check tension tighten if required

Make sure there is plenty of power steering fluid as T2's often spring a leek on the cooler pipe mountings:doh then check the condition of the belt & that it's tight enough (spec's are in the manual)

As others have said, most likely the power steering belt is slipping, or the fluid level is low, but also check your coolant level, mine has done this a few times, but only ever after doing something involving fluids under the bonnet. Most recently, working on the coolant system, where some has poured down onto the pulley, and it is slipping. As soon as it cleared, it has then been fine until the next time I do something like that again.

I have also done it, when I have been cleaning up the engine bay, and poured soapy water down there.

I will never rid of my terry, until I get a trol :naughty

Actually need to check my coolant level since we did a partial bleed of the coolant, once home the next day I had to top up by about 200ml or so.
