ok, I have seen the posts about removing the dash to change the bulbs, but i wanted to get an idea of what to expect.

When I remove all the plastic dash surround etc, then what>? am I presented witht he unit holding the speedo etc, does this simply unscrew/flop forward revealing the bulbs? is there a chance of damaging the speedo for example?

ask Darwin..

hell know just what youll find there..

or

ask

for

PICS!! yay

dunno Pete, pretty basic diagram but if its anything to go by then yes, the instrument panel is one unit, and the delicate parts (speedo needle etc) safe.

i gotta say though , that these led replacement things from darwin look really cool , are are mega cheap too :thumb2

did you get a set briggie??

maybe you could haev a bulb fitting party

Clivvy, if you order any let me know and we'll order together to save post. My clock bulb went ages ago so defo want to change that so I can see a joint workshop coming along. Plenty of Tea/Coffee and covered area at my house:thumb2

Jim

IVE GOT 20 OF THEM JIM .... 10 ICE WHITE AND 10 BLUE , BOUND TO BE A FEW SPARE , EVEN IF ME AND CLIVVY FUFF A FEW UP DURING FITTING :lol

Does anyone know for sure exactly how many bulbs are behind the dash ?

i bought them off darwin and i had trouble with them fitting, they are nice but very hard to get a tight fit as it is not the simple twist and fit these have to be manipulate in without 1 breaking the circuit and 2 having a real tight fit as if you don't make them tight you lose the brightness, as they are leds you only can put in one way not like the bulb you taken out, i even tried a wee bit of superglue to keep them tight but it is difficult as the circuit board is only a thin plastic.

i gave up in the end and took the one out of the spare jeep and went back to plain old white bulbs lol.

as you see in the pics you need 20 of them but maybe stick with the white for the indicators.

if anyone wants the one in the pic to play around with or sell it on flebay give me a shout P&P only

If you risk damage to the circuit film on the back of the cluster it sounds like it's a bit of a pain to say the least.
Wish I could get hold of a spare one to play with first. I got several ideas buzzing around but I would feel happier with a spare cluster to play on first.

PS Can any remember the posts that had photo's of the working clusters all lit up?

some Terranos have holders that accept push in bulbs , they are easier to fit , depends what previous owners have done.

found this in a previous post

is it any help ?

For the dashboard on the Mistral they are

12v 5w T-10mm wedge bulb

but...that link is THIS thread....sort it out Pete.
