Dashboard LED Crystals

The LED Crystals on my Terrano do not light up - is intermitant - Have tried disconnecting battery but still the same - can't read mileage properly - Has anyone else had this problem

"Buy a new one" - No.

90% of the time some or all of the LCD being out or intermittent is dry solder joints on the pcb.

If you are able to solder and have a small tipped iron, you can re solder the 16 or so connections to the LCD panel.

Removing the instruments is easy (disconnect battery, remove 4 screws holding bezel, remove 4 more that hold instruments in, carefully disconnect the 2 multi plugs. Take instruments to kitchen table, carefully remove the white back panel..)

I did mine, which had some digits missing when cold, but got better when warmed up.

PS- replace all of the illumination bulbs whilst the panel is out!
