So it seems like dashboard bubbles are a fairly common problem with the Y61 facelift Patrols... Some worse than others.

Has anybody on here had that problem?

I can maybe understand how it happens in Australia, and why they have a very simple solution... Dashboard Mats! :clap

Can't seem to find anywhere in the UK to buy these mats! :doh

I'm heading South to see a Patrol next week and the guy said it has a few of these bubbles on the dash.

Now I'm just looking for a solution and figuring out how much it might cost... So I can chip him on price! :naughty

eBay Australia. Be prepared to pay through the nose for postage. I've had a few items shipped from there for my Monaro & the postage costs can be more than the item cost :(

Just had a thought........... Could you make some out of whatever they're made from or similar :nenau

I have nooooo idea what you two are talking about:lol:nenau

Foxy says that's the last time she pulls your arse out of the mud :p:lol

I'm a late pre-facelift model so dash bubbling is not a problem I've encountered :nenau

Don't worry Banshee, I'll pull you out :lol

I suppose I could, if need be make a template and get a mat made... Or vinyl wrap!

I might not even need to! :nenau

I hadn't even noticed the bubbles on mine till I read this and it's only a little bit in the corner so not bothered. mines parked in the sun on the South coast. You could always cover it with black afro turf.:thumbs

Dash Blisters

My old 300 CRD had one on the dashboard the diameter of a Golf Ball but luckily it was only about 1mm high. It was less noticeable in the winter. I used Aerospace Protectant 303 (as used by some Hot Tub owners on the cover) to clean the whole dash covering to stop it spreading as it protects Vinyl from uV degredation.

I am not sure but I suspect the issue arises when the bond adhesive reacts to the vinyl with sunlight / heat growing the bubbles.

Here's a couple of pictures of the offending dashboard of the Patrol I'm going to see next week!

My dash is pretty badly bubbled as well.

It seems that Nissan's service campaign to replace them only applied in Australia. My local Nissan dealer here in the UK denied all knowledge of the issue, ran the computer check on my registration, and said there was nothing outstanding, despite me confronting him with part numbers etc.

I don't really want to spend however many hundred on a new dash, so I'm on to alternatives.

I've been looking at getting the dashmats from Oz, once shipping is included, it gets to ~£65. I'm tempted, but there's so much variation, if I get a duff one it will be a bit tough to send it back!

not teenage spots then but old age blemishes.big ones next to screen i see.if you recover it will have to be worked so all flat.
