Hi All
Got my cpk sensor, a great find ,well done and thanks for sharing it with us.
Its eliminated all my stalling and Mil light issues.

Thats a very good price for a direct fit :thumbs but im happy with my retro fit mod & if it goes wonky only £12 to replace :augie

Not that it affects my td, but if someone could do a write up, with any adaptors that need to be made, with any shims required, ie a stack of washers lol, plus any wiring mods, then that would help others to over come this very expensive replacement.

Alternatively, an opportunity for someone to have some pocket money making up complete replacements.
Not sure how many are needed though...
Just a thought..:nenau:nenau

Bloody hell, I think that's one of the best finds ever. The CPS is going to become a common fault for a lot of folk as our cars get old. Prister, thanks very much for sharing this is a diamond of a find :thumbs:bow

Well, I bit the bullet and got the Audi sensor for £9.99 off Ebay.
Wired it up as suggested in the Tech section.
Unbelievable difference to the car. Full power all the time, no stuttering or power loss or surges, no warning light and it goes like stink.
It took me an hour to cut and file a Steel spacer (4mm, but could use 3 to 3.5 mm)
I'm buying another and making up a more refined mount and cable connector.
THANKS GUYS. :)

hi Rick link for sensor = http://goo.gl/cEgEbg
you could look for cheaper than these @ £12.50 but given the savings all ready
& this link for instructions originally posted by Revolver.http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=426&highlight=audi&page=2

one last point I had to replace my plug too in the end because the wires were shot at the plug end

The one in your link looks identical to mine minus th colour of the plug.

Where's the adjustment to be made? On the electrical connector or th sensor bit? :thumb2

this mod is for the cps at the front of the engine, the audi sensor is longer & smaller dia, but I think it looks identical to the cps sensor that fits on the back of the engine ?
Cps sensors for back of the engine are available from about £70 direct replacement.
Using the audi sensor on the front requires a spacer to reduce how far it slots in or it will get destroyed in your engine :doh

you also have to cut the new plug off & connect to your old plug

OK got my sensors yesterday and discovered they are a perfect match for the Bosch ones except for the plug, an easy get round, what I did not expect is that the resistance is 900 ohms (which is correct for the Bosch) but the Zexel/Hitachi measures 1500 ohms, so am in the middle of turning a spacer in order to fit one to my Zexel motor and see if it throws a wobbly on seeing the wrong resistance, Ray may be able to explain why, dinner interrupted play so will carry on after, Rick

Alex yours is Bosch, so direct replacement except for the plug, although it has three wires only two are for the sensor, and does not matter which way round they go, the third wire is just a screen, Rick

I doubt it will make any difference, as the ECU cant really measure the resistance of the sensor. It can only detect S/C, O/C or no pulse!
I'd expect it to work OK.

Thank's Ray, I did figure that to be the case as Revolvers is working OK, just put mine back together and it started fine, have not road tested as yet but should be no problem, I am of two minds as to machine a groove for an O ring or use mastic on the washer to engine joint, the sensor seals with its own ring, this is what I made, no need to trim it to shape as there is plenty of room

and the plug fitted from the original sensor that failed on my off road motor, do not worry about the wire colours, just sort the screen out first the join the other two either way round, as you can see the sensor is a nice snug fit, so for all to remember, across the range one sensor does all and cheap as chips, just means changing the plug on both types and fabricate a spacer for the front mounted Zexel, Rick

when I tried swapping the wires round just to check, my mav would not start. so unless there was some other cause they have to be correct :nenau

another difference, also when i checked the ohms on my origina cps it was about 900 soI thought great (but then it was failing miserably)

but all in all its a great & cheap repair for Mavs & Terrano's
Nice spacer rick, & I just used liquid gasket as it does'nt have to come off agan any time soon :thumb2

it is just a coil of wire around a magnet which when the pip on the gear passes produces a pulse of electricity, cannot see this being polarity conscious, again perhaps Ray can enlighten, Rick

900 ohms on a sensor that should be 1500 is a sign that it has a short in the coils so yes failed/failing 900 ohms on a sensor that is supposed to be 900 is good, Rick
