Rather than building a Bluetooth diagnostic out of a 14 pin to usb diagnostic cable, as described in http://www.nissandatascan.com I was wondering if anyone had any joy using a 14 pin obd to 16 pin obd2 conversion cable with a Bluetooth obd2 16 pin plugged into it?

The 14 pin diagnostic connector does not support OBD, it can only be accessed using the bespoke Nissan Consult protocol.

Thanks, now I get it. That would explain why the DIY instructions are based on the USB or serial Consult connector cables then.

3.0 16 Pin - Sorted

I have finally got a working system for Terri 4:clap

ECU Talk now sell a USB to 16 Pin for the Terrano;
https://www.ecutalk.com.au/interface.aspx

I combined this with a cheap laptop:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CV1XC1Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Followed the instructions for V1.5 (latest), small bit of confusion but once I put the ignition on :thumb2

There does not appear to be an Android version which is why I bought the Laptop. It is an ideal size and more than adequate to run ECU Talk. I may add the the Terrano manual as a quick ref, still need printed pages to scribble:lol on

Glad to hear. I wonder what's inside the USB of that cable. Bet I could make them for half the price.

Oh I'm excited to try and get this working :jump

Thanks for resurrecting this, did you have any drama getting the Consult cable over from Aus? Did you get stung for any import duty?

No problems really took about 3 weeks, no import duty. Lots of E mails for when posted, Aussie Post pick Up, Sent, UK arrival, Post Office receipt etc.

There should be RS232 to USB A converters out there somewhere, have fun.

I will be back in a week so you have 7 days to crack it :)
