Mine is 16 pin and Me and Ray are still struggling getting that working. I know Ray is quite busy at the moment with a new job he should hopefully be able to start helping me again when things quieten down, once we've sussed it out, I'm going to get some kits knocked up and I'll start flogging them to the 16 pin guys :)

It would be good if some more 14 pin guys could post there results.
Also I don't seem to be able to get the tick option box for" Target F/inj mm3 "
I think Rick had the same problem :nenau

I'll try and convince some of the 14 pin guys to let me take some readings when we go away

I've made a discovery after hours and hours of research on the internet that has been confirmed by an e-mail that has just dropped in my mailbox from Peter who develops ECUTalk.

Here's the crack;

14 Pin Plug - If you have the 14 Pin connector, you are running Consult I and can use ECUTalk

16 Pin Plug - It now transpires that there was a switch over period, Nissan for whatever reason on the earlier facelift trucks 2001 - 2003 were fitted with the 16 Pin EODB II type connector, when looked at, using Pin 7 as a reference point, if Pin 7 isn't present, this still uses the Consult I system, although it is a different plug, if a 14 Pin reader is modified to fit into the 16 pin connector this will work with ECUTalk

If Pin 7 (KLine) IS present, you will have Consult II which is NOT compatible with ECUTalk :(, this is why the kit that Ray has built for me works on his truck but not on mine and all of the other trucks I've tried it on. There is light at the end of the tunnel though as I've been told that for Consult II trucks (commonly early 2003 >) that Nissan DataScan II will work if used with a VAGCOM USB KKL 409.1 cable :thumb2

I'll get one ordered and get it tested, I wont let this beat me :surrender

Will this prog not run until it's connected to the truck?
Just installed on the laptop and I'm hoping the consult turns up today.

He's fine, I run mine on Windows 8.1

SNH, you'll need to change the injector size from 250 to 270 though I've been told for the 2.7

Happy days.
Can you tweak anything on it?

No but you can with Consult II I've recently found out :augie

You can mess with the idle speed for example and save it back to the ECU, handy for the veggie users :naughty

Banshee, have you got a list of parts for us 16 pinners that have Consult 1 ECU's? Pretty certain pin 7 is empty on mine (that is the top row isn't it?)

Cheers!

2nd from right on top row, if that's not there then you have Consult I on a 16 Pin connector

All you need is a normal 14 Pin Consult I reader, a 16 Pin EODB Male Socket, some wire and the pin outs for both and then it's just a case of opening it up and piggybacking :naughty

Have you got your lead now? I tried with a Ross-Tech VCDS lead and couldn't get any joy.
