i agree with you on the screenshots, too small to view,
like you say just write down what the readings are,

as for the options in the settings, the injector size is the only variable

banshee reckons it should be set to 270 cc/min,
going to call at the local diesel garage and see if this can be confirmed

maybe we should start a new thread for posting the readings on ?
I agree , once we have all the setting and choose what we are reading, They all need to be posted with the year and model and also which maf/pump fitted to allow for any production changes.
Then most important we need someone to collate all the information and keep a data base

does anyone know if a 1996 mistral 2.7 auto has the consult plug or is it too early for this
:thumb2

I'll sort this out, once we have enough results and enough variables I'll knock some tables up, PDF them and add a workshop download :thumb2

Not going to post any of my readings up until my new down-pipe is fitted and I can confirm my MAF is OK

some sort of template that you can download and print out,
take it to your truck in then fill in the relevant information,
the results can then be posted up

something like this for example;

model : terrano 2 se touring lwb
year : 1999
type of pump, maf and ECU :bosch
fuel being used : diesel / svo 50/50 mix
description of any running problems or issues :

rpm :750
water temp : 74
throttle v :0.38
target f/inj mm3 :10.40
c/sleeve pos v : 1.90
act inj timing :-0.5
inj timing cv % : 59.8
air flow v :2.5
rpm pump :731
fuel temp c :32

its only an example of my truck
what do you think guys ? anything else that i`ve missed,

The reading you have there are clearly at idle, do you think we should do 2 sets of readings, 1 at tickover and one at say 2000rpm?

How's that for a start?

yes thats a good suggestion,
or take a reading from anywhere in the rev range if you`ve got problems at a certain rpm,

what do you think about the template idea ?
any suggestions or improvements from anyone ?

it would also be nice if we knew what the readings should be, (ie from a nissan source)
until we get a data base of several different vehicles to get an average we still dont know if the readings are correct,

how did you find out the size of the injectors ?
i had a quick look but failed :doh

Don't worry about that, it won't do anything.

Any of the consult cables will be compatible with windows 7 as it's a serial connection. No drivers needed unless you use it with a usb to serial adaptor, then you need drivers for the usb to serial adaptor.

Only the software (ecutalk) has to be compatible which is not affiliated with the consult cable. It's compatible anyway so no worries there.

Theres also a good chance all the consult cables are the exact same inside anyway.
This is what was wrong then as I was using a usb serial adapter and driver as nether of my windows 7 laptops have a serial port,
Is there any way round this?

yes get a usb to serial adapter that the consult is compatible with. Basicly the chipset in the adapter.

There's no definitive list, But most good quality ones will work such as ftdi or pl2303. it's a bit hit and miss.

That's why I use my Toughbook as it's the newest machine I have that runs Windows 7 that has got a Serial Port, it's just a Bonus that it's also my GPS machien with my OS maps on too :thumb2

me and jone tried this with our terras him in france me in kent. from what iv learnt plugging into other T2s in a straight comparrison my control sleeve position is out. i new it would be after resealing my pump and its a simple adjustment of the IQ housing to set it right but id like an average. mine reads 1.0 jones was 2.8 but his truck is sick so i will be watching to see others readings.

oh if any one is passing and wants their truck plug into my consult tool your more than welcome

same goes here,
just send a pm to arrange
the more readings we can get the better the average will be .

Would this tell me which abs sensor is goosed on my 2000t2?

i`m not sure, not seen any abs faults

its more of an engine management tool,

it can read the codes and give a brief description
it also resets the codes,
theres also a data logging mode but not used that yet
