when i turn the lights on the compass goes dim and stays dim:nenau im not bothered for the compass as i no my way to work but am i going to have problems or is this normal?

could be a problem with the circuit or is it controlled by the dash dimmer switch? on my old Fourtrak, it went bright/dim along with the dash dimmer switch....

in the headlining. tells you what direction your going in incase you get lost on the way to sainsburys

You get them alot in Suzuki's, KIA's, Mitzys etc too... not much point really, unless you get on the M1 and aint too sure if your headin towards Scotland or London!!!!! :lol

sounds to me like you have a bad earth.

pop the cover off, clean the conections..

thats what id do.

but then you know I know nothing so hay ho..

it will go dim when you put the lights on . so it is bright during the day . when its dark and you need lights to drive . you dont want the compas lighting the interior up...
everything is normal

r3m terrano's have them too .... absolutely pointless . but nice knowing you had an extra toy

Yeah, pretty pointless over here. Think the Americans use them more as their roads are usually more of a grid orientated north/south and east/west (and some yanks aren't too bright bless them!) Lol!
