Looking through Diff lock last night came across a post from someone who had purchased a RRc .been stood in farmers barn for 10 years.
couldnt get the alloy wheels off due to severe corrosion between alloy wheel and steel hub.
eventually managed it after pouring gallons of boiling water over it.
someone recommended COKE the fizzer the better.apparently it works very well.
may be of use to someone working on engine or something.

ive heard that, proper Coke is good for removing oil too from tarmac etc.:thumb2

I've heard it makes copper coins nice and shiny

Sheila wiped it off but had to do the rest of it because of all the crap that came off.

the obvious question is ..... if its doing that to metal parts /carpets etc ..... what is it doing to your insides ?

I fixed my 99p winch with a can of rola cola , worked a treat :D
I don't drink the muck, neither do I drink WD40 :thumbs WKD is, I've learned, different :sly

I used coke to clean my terrano's engine, eg the rocker cover and it worked well :thumb2

Diet Coke & Coca-Cola have a signififcant amount of phosphoric acid in them, if I remember correctly. Many years ago, doctors around my way would recommend flat regular coke for minor stomach upsets as the sugar was handy for your low energy and most tummy bugs are not good at surviving in phosphoric acid solution.

Used to say the same about that unique to Ireland product,Red Lemonade.:doh Don't ask, we just like to be different to the UK and have Red Lemonade, similar taste to Tizer.:lol:lol

Best thing we found at work for removing ANYTHING was Listerine mouth wash, we used to store it. we cleaned everything from Battery acid to hydraulic oil spills. The HGV drivers used it from cleaning the air lines on the tractor units if they got coated in grease. We even used it one for getting floor tiles up cos the glue i used to put them down with was so strong nothing could move them. 24 hour soak in mouth wash and they almost jumped off the floor by themselves.

And what do you do with Listerine mouth wash, please dont say put it in your mouth.:doh

I used my dish washer to clean my cylinder head and rocker cover, now don't try it!
They came up spotless but the dish washer was covered in oil!!!!
The wife wasn't happy

Classic :lol I had a similar event when I cooked my brake shoes in the oven to dry off the brake fluid that had leaked :doh
The oven's self cleaning function is poo

Bleach and Stainless Steel ! Aghhhh..

Never leave anything made of stainless steel in a bleach solution.

It dissolves it. Titanium is one of the few metals that can be used in the manufacturing process.

Cola is also very good at cleaning out the intercooler rad. The one's that are low down near the front are prone to oil collection.

It's also good for blocked or partially blocked waste pipes (kitchen & bathroom).

I always got a bottle handy. Never drink the crap though.
