Well ive been using my Terrano everyday since I removed the damper pipe with no issues other than a high biting point, So I adjusted the pedal and it got a little better until yesterday. I had the day off work and was taking the kids out and low and behold it started to slip and bite point is right at the top of the pedal, And I mean within a couple of cm's, So I got under and pulled the rubber boot away from the release arm and there is quite a lot of metal filings floating around in there so I think its bite the bullet time and order a new clutch. So after reading through Banshee's thread I got myself the same borg and beck clutch kit ordered for £140.00 and im going to attempt it Saturday. Now after reading a few threads on the upgrade I saw that a few people mentioned a lip of on the flywheel after removing the old clutch, So I took the flywheel off my spare engine and low and behold I can see the offending lip so after work I decided to remove it and give the new clutch a good starting chance. Pics say a thousand words...
I decided to steal the turntable from our spare surface grinder and after making up a nice 3 phase extension lead set about grinding the flywheel, Ive only took a few thou off but its now nice and flat and the finish is just right.
On my bench all done...
I will take some more pics as work progresses and hopefully on Saturday all will be revealed. :thumbs
