Now firstly is the clutch adjustable? The reason I ask is Lou's clutch biting point is very high and as far as we know it is still on the original one after 140k!

How many miles have you mananged to do on a Terrano/Mav clutch in your 2.7 ?

How much did you get fleeced to change it?

Cheers,
Paul

Mileage varies, there were some clutch problems on late 90's cars, maybe into early 2000's, my clutch was replaced at about 50K due to slipping, been fine for the 20-oddK since.

I'm unsure if there is any adjustment on the clutch itself, however there is some adjustment on the pedal mechanism, try a search for clutch and Toolbox has (I think) given clear description of how to adjust the pedal travel. Not too bad a job either.

i remember thread you have bitove adjustment on a pushrod cant remember if it was slave cyl one or pedal one

mines done over 120k on the original clutch the biting point is adjustable on the link rod from the pedal to the master cylinder but I would get a clutch put in asap as the clutch centre plates tend to just go bang when they are that worn and you will have no drive

I have just had mine done 126,000 best price £127  from nissan other motor factors wanted upto £200.00  my local mechanic charged £275.Fitting for cash

clutch replacement

most maverick/ terranos we have done around 120 to 150,000 miles
i charge £175 labour to fit the clutch , the only problem if you supply your own clutch if it becomes faulty you have to pay the labour again to have it replaced if we supply it we have to cover the labour cost if it becomes faulty
if you would like me to get a price on the clutch for you no problem contact me 01902 757462 yhanks Ian

Thanks for the costing Ian and will bare that in mind. My location compared to yours would make it a bit difficult to get it to you to do it though ;)

Cheers,
Paul

My clutch is due to be changed ,not much between the floor and the bite point. The patrol has done 118k from new. I have priced replacement clutch kits and the price has varied from £126 to £305. As i want to keep it for the forseable future i will go for a blueprint clutch at £215. A local garage will change it for £175. In this day and age i dont think £400 is exspencive for a new clutch and fitting.
Lots of the smaller garages seem to think that because its a big 4x4 the job is going to be difficult. The garage that will change the clutch mostly work on medium size vans and lorries , so they have the kit needed to do the heavier stuff.

Bloke told me that mine was original one at 180,000 but not sure if thats true, but mine cost over £700, think i was maced
