Evening all,

Does anyone know what the extra clutch hydraulic line is for on my '97 LWB Mav?

It runs from the clutch hose connector block to just about the rear axle, where it ends with a bleed nipple! All it seems to be good for is causing a headache when the line rusts and starts to leak (which it now has).

What's the consensus? I'm thinking of blanking the connector outlet.

Cheers,
Glenn

From what I understand it is to cut down noise!!!!!! Lord knows how, but apparently quite a few members have taken it off & blanked off the outlet (wish I'd known this when I had a new gearbox/clutch fitted before bringing the T2 to Spain - the gearbox "specialist" who did the job told me the 3" of play in the clutch pedal was wear in the pedal pivot, garage in Spain fixed it in 30mins - air in that hydraulic line!)

I cut mine off at the clutch end a few weeks ago and blocked the end, the clutch seems a fraction lighter but I have not noticed any extra noise.

It was leaking for ages but I just kept the fluid topped up, the funny thing was after a 300mile trip back from my holiday I decided to nip to the local shop for bread and milk. The pesky pipe burst at the shop so I had to crunch gears all quarter of a mile to get home.

then sorted it out in about 10minutes thanks to the info on this site :clap
