Clutch fluid down to minimum

You need someone to pump the pedal and hold the pedal and repeat. See if any swelling or dampness too :thumb2

guys, topped up the fluid this afternoon, but felt around the reservoir again and again there was fluid. I took a photo as I could feel something underneath turns out its some sort of screw?

I couldn't really turn it but I didn't put in too much effort - what is it and could this be leaking?

Ill go do the pedal test though,.

I was so intrigued by that screw, so had a good look a mine, with a mirror...:augie yes mine has the screw too.
Mine is nice and clean, and dry. Still the original, so you know how old it must be...:doh

Not sure what it does, maybe required as part of a machining operation.
Might be a case of remove the screw, and seal with PTFE tape.
BUT find out what it does first...:augie

cheers Rustic! I am driving the car to work tomorrow, I can then check that area again for fluid - I have now topped up the bottle to above max....!

Clean the area, degrease it, then tie a piece of Kitchen roll around it in several places, then check regularly for where the leak starts.


Have a water sprayer available to wash any splashed brake fluid off the paintwork. NEVER wipe it off as it will take the paint off too.:thumb2

It's part of the clutch master cylinder, on the opposite side as the fluid resevoir, ie underneath, you need a mirror to see it .:thumb2

Ah well mine has been replaced so not that then :thumb2
